H.A.V.O.C. HAVOC Cosplay
All of the heroes and villians from Gotham City and Metropolis, To New York City have gathered together, on separate sides of course, to wage a war against each other. Which side will you be on?
"Whenever Halloween came around, as a child, I always searched the aisles for a costume that didn't look like it was created when Jo-Anns threw-up...and alas I searched in vain. Everything I saw was pleather, cheap plastic, foam that bent the wrong way, boot tops, mass produced, and absolutely lame. I almost always insisted on my mother making me a costume. Now this was not OCD, nor was it me being obstinant, it's because Batman DID NOT WEAR A FOAM MASK!!! I wanted true to life costumes simple as that. So as a result I've always made my costumes true to character, or as accurate as possible. Now I have a job, and can afford to make them much closer than before, but still that didn't seem to fufill my character playing needs. Then a miracle happened, I saw a professional cosplay group that did the Rogues Gallery Of Villains, and I was astounded. This was the job I've wanted since I was three! So I talked to a close friend of mine, Gabi , and upon looking at this group, she decided that we should do this. She helped me dream this up. I texted her in the middle of Health class saying 'I've got our name...HAVOC'. The next thing I did was go to one of my best friends Laura and ask her if she thought we could do this...her response? 'Calvin, you're you, and with the people we know, we can do it...so what are my characters?' So I talked to Liz, Laura, and Gabi about this for weeks in our Musical Theater class freetime, and it was descided that we would go for it. Then I 'hired' actors and friends alike to form our cast, and from there it's been one long ride. I cast four different groups of comic characters to the cast, and then I built this website. We made our first "sort-of" appearance at Metro-con 2007, and it was a hit. Now it's a matter of time before, with any luck, we will be hitting every major convention in Florida, and eventually the US. It's gonna be a blast." -Calvin
